Before You Come

Booking & payment

How do I book?
Choose your dates and group size on the Book page to see an estimated price, then tap “Continue on LINE” to send us your booking request. We'll confirm availability on LINE and send you our bank details. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit arrives.
How do I pay the deposit?
Once we've confirmed your dates on LINE, we'll hold them for three days. To secure them, transfer a 50% deposit within those three days and send us the last five digits of the account you paid from, along with the name and phone number for the booking. Your booking is confirmed once the deposit arrives. If it hasn't arrived within three days, we'll release the dates. The balance is due when you arrive, by bank transfer or in cash.
How far ahead can I book?
As far ahead as the calendar on the Book page goes. Weekends and long holiday weekends tend to go first, so it's worth asking early.
Do you have any discounts?
First time adding us on LINE? You'll get a welcome coupon. If you've stayed with us before, you'll also get a returning-guest discount. Offers can't be combined, so we'll apply whichever saves you most.

Changes & cancellations

What if I need to cancel?
It depends on how much notice you give us: 60 or more days before arrival, we refund the whole deposit; 14 to 59 days before, we refund half; less than 14 days before, the deposit isn't refundable. Anything you've paid on top of the deposit is refunded in full.
Can I change my dates?
Yes, once and for free, as long as it's 60 or more days before arrival. The new dates need to be within 6 months, and we'll settle any difference in price either way.
When do I get a full refund?
If a typhoon or other force majeure makes the trip impossible, or if someone else books your dates after you cancel and pays in full. Personal reasons, like a friend falling ill or part of the group having to isolate, don't count as force majeure.
What happens if there's a typhoon?
If Nantou County closes offices and schools on your arrival day, you can move your dates for free or get a full refund.
I might have to cancel. What should I do?
Let us know on LINE as soon as you can, even if it's already within 60 days. It gives someone else the chance to take the dates.

Events & celebrations

An engagement ring on a stone in the forest
Proposals in the forest
Can we propose or hold an event here?
Of course. Proposals, birthdays, family trips and company retreats are all welcome; you book the venue at our usual whole-house rate.
How do proposal decorations work?
Decorations are booked separately from your stay. You're welcome to do the decorating yourselves at no extra charge. If you'd like to set up early, just arrange a time with us. Please put everything back as you found it when you check out; we may charge a cleaning fee for tape marks or anything that needs extra cleaning. Or you can bring in our recommended stylist, Hugging Flower (花柴訂製所, ask for 翁翁). They know this forest well, and will help you plan the flowers and lighting for the setting you have in mind and give you a quote (message Hugging Flower on LINE).
Can we get married here?
Yes. The house is best suited to small weddings and ceremonies of up to 25 guests, with up to 20 staying the night. You book the venue at the whole-house rate, and your wedding team quotes separately for planning and styling. Every wedding is different, so we don't have set packages. If you haven't found a team yet, we can recommend planners who've done weddings here before.
